Melbourne four-piece The Scrimshaw Four have premiered a cinematic music video for their new song ‘Jerusalem Ridge/Wish To The Lord’. The video was shot as short film produced and directed by Erin Hingham and filmed by the illustrious Andrew Hardy in the You Yang national park of Victoria. Captured in one take, the video tells the story of a young man on a surreal journey from his kitchen through the bushland and him finding love along the way.
“We were happily surprised when Erin Hingham wanted to use our music for her video. We arrived at the You Yangs National Park with no expectations of making a music video, and she had provided everything; full crew, actors, script and a full set. It was a pretty incredible operation, we loved the end result so much we had to celebrate it somehow! The trickiest aspect was getting the video shot in all one take, we had to run from one location to the next between shots. All whilst carrying our instruments and in bare feet!”
The Scrimshaw Four will be launching the video at Melbourne’s Shadow Electric Bandroom on Saturday May 9th with support from Arthur Penn and the Funky Ten and A Parlour O’Lala.
The Scrim’s gigs are fun, upbeat, so get ready to join them on the sweaty/gypsy-doodoof dance floor!
