Hi, my name is Susan. I love the water, sunrise, sunset…

Sharing her anticipated video for ‘Take It All Back’, the track is the second single released from her debut LP Secretly Susan. Set for release on Friday 28 August via Dot Dash / Remote Control Records, the record and clip will see Susan (Sui Zhen’s alter-ego) go through the motions of moving away from her hometown and starting a new.

With Susan quietly observing the world through the past and fragmented present, the video is a visually minimal and nostalgic reflection into the days and comforts of Susan. With routine manifesting as suffocation, these memories begin to fade away into the person she once was, staring aimlessly into a screen and trying to reconnect with old means (and even people).

With an aesthetically pleasing art direction, photogenic parrot and seaside setting, the clip embodies Susan who is “a manifestation of meta-data, her personality… cultivated from the collective anxieties, hopes and dreams of the digital documented public.”

Sui Zhen’s Secretly Susan is available for pre-order via iTunes and on limited edition vinyl via Bandcamp.
