Melbourne’s soft punk/tough pop quintet, Rolling Blackouts release the video for their widely infectious single ‘Wide Eyes’.
Featuring a cutting edge “Dog-Cam” technique, the clip encapsulates Wide Eyes buoyant nature and frantic-guitar-work-meets-laid-back-attitude of Rolling Blackouts.
‘Wide Eyes’ is lifted from the band’s debut EP release ‘Talk Tight’, set for release 23rd October. Influenced by Scandinavian post office pop and golden age Australian rock, Talk Tight will lead you through a world of unintended solo holidays and teenage girls leaving home for the bright lights of Movie World. ‘Wide Eyes’ follows the band’s debut single ‘Clean Slate’ that received a wealth of love from Melbourne community radio, as well as receiving rotation on triple j.
Rolling Blackouts have been carving a place for themselves within the Melbourne music scene since 2014 with their angular tunes and unique take on golden era Australian indie rock.
With their recent Melbourne headline shows selling out, it is no secret that Rolling Blackouts put on a killer live show. They recently supported The Preatures on the Victorian leg of their ‘Cruel’ Tour and have also been announced as main support for US scuzz-grunge champions Bully when they tour Australia this December. Sydney fans can catch the band this Sunday at the Vic On The Park with local psych heroes The Laurels, and at the At First Sight festival in November.
