Fremantle indie-pop duo Rainy Day Women have realised their latest single ‘Matter Of Time‘ with a nostalgic video clip to boot.
‘Matter of Time’ is the first single from the pair’s forthcoming mini album, written, produced and mixed by frontman Dylan Ollivierre.
The single also introduces new band member Carmen Pepper (who was previously the bass player and co-vocalist of Perth band Warning Birds).
‘Matter Of Time’ is another sun-kissed melody from the band, driven by an unmistakably West Coast pop groove of gentle gutter and drums. Citing influences as varied as Fleetwood Mac, The Kooks, Cat Stevens, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Beach Boys, and Bob Dylan, Rainy Day Women have some considerable pop-rock muscle to flex.
“Though I originally conceived it as a side project, I decided to ask Carmen to join the band”, Ollivierre has said. “‘Matter of Time’ is an indication of the sound and mood of the record. The song tells the story of a relationship falling apart from both the male a female perspective.”
The accompanying music clip plays out like a homemade video, transitioning between black & white and colour, and follows the duo dodging dogs in the studio or frolicking on flowery beach hillsides.
