King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have released the film clip for the second single from their LP Oddments, ‘Hot Wax’. And it is spooky.
‘Hot Wax’ is a bouncy, bass-tapping pop song that reeks of The Cramps – in a good way. The art for the film clip was done by Jason Galea; also responsible for most of King Gizzard’s trademark colourful album sketches. The film clip features direct stares into the barrel of the camera from both of the singers in the duet, melting faces, and more cartoon smoke than any of us were prepared for. Oh, and a mouth harp too (trust).
Oddments is currently out through their own record label Flightless, having been released earlier this year. But if you like this song, be sure not to linger on it for too long. They’ve got two more albums coming soon.
