No stranger to a one-man live looping show is Graham Moes, who with his band, The Petrichor, have just dropped their latest single ‘Heartwork’. The track explores Moes’ conflicting feelings on the inevitable interception of when passion becomes career, and the complicated balancing act that goes with it. To get back to his roots, Moes has released a live solo performance of his track ‘Got Me Down’ adding to his already bulky resume of live looping performances.
As the chant of “money’s gone and got me down” sifts over a looped hand-clap and tambourine, it layers over itself and comfortably sinks into the background. But when Moes begins to really belt his voice out over the loop, the track is gatecrashed by a funky kick drum and sub bass, with remnants of Moes’ vocal percussion to add to the mix.
To celebrate the release of ‘Heartwork’, Graham Moes & The Petrichor are performing a three show tour along the mid-east coast. You can catch them at any of the shows below:
24th Aug – The Bearded Lady, Brisbane
10th Sep – Hotel Brunswick, Brunswick Heads
