“One question. Is it too late to change the name?”

The last line of the new teaser trailer for Marvel‘s high-anticipated Ant-Man movie may sum up the entire film, but fans have been lapping up the 1 min 56 sec video that was released on Tuesday.

Ant-Man – the titular hero from several Marvel Comics – is the superhero persona of Hank Pym, a brilliant scientist who invented a substance that allowed him to change his size.

The trailer combines the usual Marvel wry humour with metallic-hued special effects, as Pym embraces his arachnid alter-ego.

The big screen adaptation will be a first for the creepy-crawly character, and sees funny man Paul Rudd (This Is 40, Anchorman) in the lead alongside veteran actor Michael Douglas (Wall Street) and Evangeline Lilly fresh from The Hobbit.

Rudd also co-wrote the film’s screenplay alongside Adam McKay, with the story originally penned by Brits Joe Cornish and Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz director Edgar Wright. The film is directed by Peyton Reed.

Ant-Man is expected to be released in the US in July.
