Lily Allen is controversial. Consequently she has copped a barrage of negative responses for her new album Sheezus. However, Allen is keeping things interesting like the Madonnas and the Britneys that preceded her. She has had some hit songs, and within her new album there are definitely good bits. Some parts are a bit distasteful, and some parts are somewhat artificial to the extent that they sound overly computerised, but underneath the electronic sounds and provocative statements there is Lily Allen, with her pretty voice and her candour. This song, ‘Stop Right there’, is one track that didn’t quite make the album. The song was an off-cut from her time recording with producer Greg Kurstin, but nonetheless it is one of the most refined tracks overall. There is a genuine and heartfelt quality to this pop song.
