Iconic secret service spy James Bond‘s mysterious past is back to haunt him in the first teaser trailer for Spectre, the highly-anticipated 24th Bond film in the series produced by EON Films.
The film reunites current Bond Daniel Craig and Skyfall director Sam Mendes, but the similarities don’t end there.
In the brief but tasty trailer, Bond enters the burnt-out ruins of a house in the Scottish highlands – the one that shares the name with the 2012 movie and where the high-octane finale took place. The visit seems to make Bond confront a past that was – until now – buried in the rumble.
The end of the broody (but definitely not flashy) trailer also shows the silhouette of the franchise’s newest cast member and villain, Christoph Waltz.
Spectre will star the usual suspects: Daniel Craig as James Bond, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ralph Fiennes as M (taking over from Judi Dench who died at the end of Skyfall), and introduces: Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, David Bautista as Mr. Hinx, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann and Stephanie Sigman.
Filming is currently taking place at Pinewood Studios and on location in Italy, Morocco, Mexico and Austria.
Spectre will be released in UK cinemas on October 23 and the USA on November 6. Australian date yet to be confirmed.
