Thousands of music fans gathered over the Easter long weekend to attend the annual Byron Bay Bluesfest, Australia’s largest festival of blues and roots music.

Festival-goers didn’t just soak up the atmosphere it seems, as consistent rain turned the chilled-out beachside town into a mudslide at times. However, the sporadic weather did not dampen the spirits of attendees who danced around the camp site in gumboots, bare feet and thoroughly soaked thongs.

This year’s line-up included a diverse mix of  local and international talent, with the likes of local brother-sister duo Angus and Julia Stone, Irish crooner Hozier and David Gray headlining.
