First, it was “leaked”. Then, it was “official”. Nice move, Marvel Entertainment, nice move…
So here it is! The first Avengers: Age of Ultron leaked online earlier this week. The epic trailer (which was supposed to be strategically revealed during next week’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) has been unveiled on Marvel’s YouTube channel.
The film once again reunites superheroes Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) with pals Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders). The avengers must team up against a new villain, Ultron (awesomely voiced by James Spader) in an epic, Hollywood-scale showdown. Underscored by a haunting track, the trailer is sure to send fans into a tizzy.
Marvel Studios also released the following accompanying statement: “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.”
Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released in cinemas on May 1, 2015.
