Melbourne Music Week has released a ‘wrap up’ video detailing the sights and sounds of the festival held in November last year. Centered around the residence; a makeshift dome erected for the event on the banks of Birrarung Marr, the video captures the people, the drinks, the good times and the DJs from the festival – but kind of falls short on the ‘band front’; failing to include footage of Melbourne darlings King Gizzard, Dick Diver, Twerps, Courtney Barnett & Fraser Gorman, The Murlocs, Beaches, and the list goes on. Nonetheless, the video does succeed in depicting the festival as a more highbrow version of Parklife – this may have been its aim. And don’t get me wrong, it looks super fun. So sit back and absorb 2 minutes of sunsets, purple lights and DJs in preparation for the next Melbourne Music Week; which will surely return (much) later this year.
