Perth emcee Coin Banks has just released the music video for his new single ‘Highs and Lows’. The visually colourful video by Shingo Suzuki presents a semi-surreal narrative, much like Coin Banks’ past videos, namely ‘Someone’.

The video begins with a reluctant Coin Banks being convinced by his juvenile yet somewhat loveable friend to accompany him to a house party during the day (possible Sunday Session?), before arriving to said party filled with costumes, live music, and all the basic house party essentials. The video then shifts to the amicable pair zipping on a roller-coaster, as they navigate through the literal highs and lows, switching back and forth to the party scene.

Overall, the music video is an upbeat, light-hearted and jovial affair, further highlighting the message of the song, which in Banks’ own words is “based on the simple idea that you can’t have the good without the bad.  It’s the tough times that make us appreciate the good times.” Coupled with the smooth, mellow beats and horn sections which feature throughout the song, this music video is sure to provide ample good times.

You can catch Coin Banks on his upcoming tour supporting 360 and Seth Sentry.
