LA-based Bass artist Jackal is set to hit our shores this month for an array of shows across Australia and New Zealand, lugging with him, bass-heavy tunes, and the recently dropped, ‘Netflix N’ Kill‘, the collaboration alongside Dr. Fresch. Kicking off the tour in Melbourne on the 24th of March, with seven more cities set to be injected with Jackal’s bass bangers.
Jumping on your third Aus tour, what about the Australian/New Zealand trap & bass scene has you coming back?
Australia’s vibe is so chill and different to what I’m used to out in America. It’s almost refreshing even though everyone still goes hard AF. It’s gonna be my first time in New Zealand too. I’m stoked.
What are you most looking forward to when you get here?
Australian McDonalds, real bacon, koalas, blonde girls.
What initially got you into the (Trap & Bass) scene?
TNGHT and Baauer had a huge impact on me a few years back, still 2 of my favs for sure.
How does it feel to have support from powerhouse names in EDM such as OWSLA, Mad Decent and Buygore?
AWESOME!
What are your biggest influences either music or non-music related?
Kanye West, Nirvana, Deathcore, Flume, Skrillex, Neptunes… I could go on.
Who would your dream collab be with?
Kanye 100%.
What is your number one guilty pleasure song?
Soulja Boy – Crank That. I don’t feel guilty about anything, I love that song.
With the recent release of ‘Netflix N Kill’, your year has really kicked off with a bang…er. What else is planned for 2016?
Some of the best music I’ve ever made is coming out this year. I really, really can’t wait to show the world what I’ve been working on.
