So, you want to head out this weekend. Maybe perhaps, to a gig? You know, a gig that plays ACTUAL music? And no, not a DJ pressing play on a crappy Tiësto song. Look no further, we have you covered with our top three gigs for the week!

GIG ONE – The Jungle Giants – Speakerzoid Tour
w/ Art of Sleeping + Hockey Dad

What/Who is it?

Hot off the back of a series of sell-out tour dates across the country, the huge success of their recent single ‘Every Kind Of Way’, and the release of their brand new single ‘Kooky Eyes’, The Jungle Giants are thrilled to reveal release details for their second album.“What’s a Speakerzoid?” I hear you ask.
It’s the result of misheard song lyrics courtesy of a friend of the band while they were enjoying the opening strains of Sonic Youth’s ‘Teenage Riot’. The band loved the made up word; it summed up the listening experience of the album so much it became the album title.

The Jungle Giants will take to the road this September and October to celebrate the album’s release. The ‘Speakerzoid’ album tour will see The Jungle Giants take their indomitable live show on the road.

GIG TWO – The Drones – National Tour
w/ Batpiss

What/Who is it?

In May this year, to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of it’s release, the band played a special one-off show at the Sydney Opera House, for Vivid Live, showcasing tracks from Wait Long, as well as a few new tunes thrown in for good measure. The show was met with a vigorous response, two standing ovations, and a feeling that more people might want to experience it, so the band are taking it to fans around Australia this August and September.

Throughout 2015, as well as releasing their brand new seventh studio album, The Drones will be reissuing their entire back catalog through their own label, TFS Records.
