Transforming the old Exchange Hotel into a colourful , tropical-themed wonderland, El Coco will be serving some of Melbourne’s best Caribbean/Cuban food, music, and of course, drinks. In the lead up to Christmas, El Coco will be throwing a month of free parties with delicious menus courtesy of Hammer & Tong’s Simon Ward alongside impressive live acts. From smoked ham, provolone cheese, soft-shell crab tacos and Cuban chocolate cigars, the kick off begins on November 28 with the free show of Scatter Scatter Tropical Discotheque from the Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, a night of afro-funk, heavy salsa funk and Caribbean disco. Oh and did we mention, it’s free? In the words of Google translate: Vamos a celebrar, ya’ll!
