Celebrating the popularity of Pokémon Go, Jai Wolf’s aptly named tour Somewhere In A Forest will be hitting our shores mid-September after a brief stopover in New Zealand. Okay, so the tour isn’t quite named after anything Nintendo related, but it’s 100% worth Pokémon GoING to (last Poképun I swear)……
Jai Wolf’s arrival in the electronic scene came to light 2014 on the back of a plethora of remixes and collaborations, catching the eye of Skrillex and eventuating in a slot on the highly acclaimed OWSLA label. Adding to this, the rapidly rising producer took out a spot on triple j’s Hottest 100 with hypnotic and dreamily melodic ‘Indian Summer’ earlier this year.
Jai Wolf’s live performances can be described simply as a roller coaster ride of electronic genres; an amalgamation of trap, house, deep funk, future bass and with elements of hip hop thrown in, just for good measure.
“The success of Indian Summer has been so incredibly humbling,” says the producer. “It’s the first time I’ve created a track where I was completely true to myself. It took me a while, but I finally feel comfortable making the music that I’ve always wanted to make.”
