Wil Wagner, lead singer and focal point of the ever popular The Smith Street Band, will be briefly breaking the pack to focus on a solo journey throughout February.

In what will be his most expansive tour to date, Wagner will take to the stage across the furthest reaches of Australia. After the success of two sold out shows along the East Coast, he will be looking to repeat the trick on a nationwide level.

This all comes prior to what promises to be a busy year for Wagner and The Smith Street Band, with plenty of new music on the horizon for 2017. The tour itself is a testament to the work ethic of the Melbourne native, who will have just one day off over a two-week period. Performances will take place in some quirky venues, such as the familiar local gem Melba Spiegeltent.

He will be joined on his biggest solo project to date by talented Artists that he has befriended during his years of overseas Tours, with Laura Stevenson (U.S.A), Ian Graham (U.S.A) and Iona Cairns (U.K) playing the supporting cast.

New York-based singer/songwriter Laura Stevenson will be looking to conquer Australia after her fourth album in as many years, Cocksure, was well received in America. The A.V club describes her unique brand of songwriting as “indie pop heaven”, and after a recent collaboration with The Smith Street Band, she will be eager to open the gates to Australia in her first venture here.

Ian Graham also makes the trip from America with his power pop band Cheap Girls. Hailing from Michigan, Graham has not set foot in Australia since 2013. The chief in command at record label Casual Records released Wagners solo cassette, I Hope I Don’t come Across Intense in 2015.

Iona Cairns is a familiar face for Wagner, having toured worldwide with The Smith Street Band as part of The Great Cynics, now known as Shit Present. Something of a throwback, the UK outfit will be armed with new EP Misery + Disaster to showcase a more cut and dry punk rock style.
