Returning to Australia in February 2016, Waxahatchee (AKA Katie Crutchfield) will be headlining shows with her full band at Sydney’s Oxford Arts Factory and Melbourne’s Howler. Brought from Handsome Tours, Waxahatchee is set to showcase a number of intimate shows as she debuts her five-piece live band and highly acclaimed third studio album Ivy Tripp.

Eerie and reminiscent of ’90s indie rock, Ivy Tripp was acknowledged as “a complicated, slow-burning wonder” from Mojo, while Rolling Stone revelled in its moments punctuated by “frenetic pop joy”. To be frank, I’ve only just begun to spin the record in all it’s fuzzy, confessional glory. With punchy chords and hazy percussions, Waxahatchee will probably soon be another secretive indie-rock crush of mine; and yes, I can hear how they scored a spot touring alongside Kurt Vile and all time favourites Sleater-Kinney.
