If you remember the Townsville band The Middle East, then you will remember Bree Tranter. For the past few years since the band’s break-up, the singer/songwriter has been working on her solo career and has recently released a new video for her single More Sex and Love.
A far cry away from the original indie-rock material released under The Middle East, Tranter has reinvented her sound, focusing on glitchy electronic lines and a soft angelic crone to accompany it.
Directed by Jack Saltmiras, and produced and edited by Stephanie Day, the video was shot in Tranter’s front yard in Scarborough, NSW. Tranter sought inspiration for the video after watching Scott Phillip (also the dancer in the video), dancing underneath an enormous tree to Donny Benet at Secret Garden Festival earlier this year. The video is a captivating, artistic piece, following Phillip grooving in the garden with almost occult, purple lighting and smoke rising through the trees.
The release comes just in time for Tranter to go on tour as support for Jarryd James, the incredible talent behind Do You Remember. The tour kicks off this Friday in Brisbane. Check out the tour dates below.
