Melbourne-based 9-piece Tulalah are set to launch their debut full-length album The Flood on Saturday the 17th of October at the Shadow Electric Bandroom in Melbourne.

Written and recorded in a beach house in Blairgowrie with extra strings and vocals added in churches and halls around Melbourne’s inner north. Tulalah’s unique blend of folk & jazz with an orchestral feel was captured by Jono Steer and co-produced with the band.

The Flood will be released on both digital & vinyl formats through Equinox Recordings, who have previously released music from fellow Melbourne acts including The Raah Project, Hiatus Kaiyote & Kirkis.

Tulalah will perform music from The Flood using a string section for the first time in a live setting for the album launch, with support on the night from The Do Yo Thangs, Lazercatz 2000 & Equinox label owner Mike Gurrieri on DJ duties.

Making the their debut album launch more specical, will be the one night only exhibition of 13 works by 13 local artists, each of whom has created a work based on one of the tracks from the album. A limited edition booklet of these works will be available on the night to those who purchase the album.

The Flood via Equinox Recordings – 2LP Vinyl / Digital is out Friday, October 16th, 2015
