It’s hard to believe that forty years ago a small radio station named 2JJ launched in Sydney, providing music, culture, news and comedy to young people in its own unique way.

Now, one of the most popular national radio stations, Triple J is celebrating its forty glorious years in style, with events, exhibitions and shows around the Country.

Here are some of the events to come for Triple J’s anniversary celebrations:

Beat The Drum Exhibition: Celebrating 40 years of Triple J

Housed in the ABC foyer, the exhibition outlines the history of Triple J and Double J, artworks, articles, video and audio memorabilia since day one of broadcasting, along with some special nods to phenomenon such as the Hottest 100.

The J Files: Celebrating 40 years of Triple J

Throughout February, the J Files dive deep into triple j history, decade by decade, investigating the people, parties and politics, through rare archives and interviews, all sound-tracked with the songs of each era.
