2019 is shaping up to be a good year with the return of Within Temptation, who are back and ready to rock with the release of their brand-new single, In Vain, from their upcoming seventh album Resist. After taking a five-year hiatus following the release of their last album, Hydra, the Dutch heavy metal band have taken a step away from their more commonly known style of music to feature a more futuristic jolt with a bit of a dark edge. In Vain is a step towards an all-new area to discover.
The single takes the creative jolt that has enveloped the band’s style as of late and has pushes it to hit all new highs. Utilising softer rock stylings, the song infuses a sense of modern musicality into itself, which when paired with emotionally driven lyrics makes it a can’t miss for any new and old fans who may find themselves a little thrown by this fresh new direction.

On the brink of their newest album release (Resist is set for release on the 1st of Feb), Within Temptation is currently in the midst of a European tour that has seen astounding ticket sales for the band. They’ve also been busy prepping to embark on a United States tour throughout February and March, whilst also adding to their ever-growing list of live shows with performances planned throughout Europe, such as Hellfest, Graspop, Wacken Open Air, and Masters of Rock to name a few. The band promise to make the most of this year and will no doubt strike a chord with their audience like no time has passed at all.
