The Frankfurt duo responsible for making up the majority of all your late 00’s early 10’s house party playlists, Booka Shade, is returning to Australia and New Zealand this summer! If you’re not quite familiar with Walter and Arno from Booka Shade, then have no fear. Right now is perhaps the perfect time to familiarise yourself with them, as they’re hot off the tail of releasing a new EP at the end of 2018 titled Rosebud, accompanied by a brand new single ‘I Go, I Go’ that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Booka Shade.
A quick trip down memory lane will no doubt reinvigorate your love affair with Booka Shade, whether listening to their 2006 absolute banger ‘Body Language’, released collaboratively with German electronic duo M.A.N.D.Y, or their track from the same album ‘Night Falls’, it’s hard to go wrong. Both these works and newer productions from the duo, place themselves within the realms of dance and electronic whilst still harbouring some darker sonic tones within dance sub-genres such as deep house and techno.
Brandishing the title of Beatport’s 2008 Tech House Act of the Year, and Beatport and DJ Mag’s All-Time Top 100 House and Techno Acts, the pair show no signs of slowing their roll of success. Taking this up-coming tour to the next level by incorporating strong visuals and live elements no doubt the delight of Aussie fans, we can expect big things from Booka Shade.
