A sombre taste to his upcoming album, Tim Hart gives us some insight on his track ‘A Long Way’ taken from The Narrow Corner which is due to release on February 2nd.
With an effortlessly smooth blend of subtle synth, folk and a hint of twangy banjo to boot, Hart says the track was an opportunity for him to explore something new:
“A Long Way for me was a bit of an experimental track. I wanted to use synths but blend them with something that was more immediately recognisable for my music. So I chose to use banjo and acoustic and blend them with the synth sounds and programming that Mark Myers is so good at”
When it comes down to the nitty gritty of the song, Hart explains that he drew inspiration from the perils of self-satisfaction and detachment:
“The song is about being a bit disconnected and complacent with your life and relationships. I think it’s so easy to drift into that place without ever realising anything had changed in life and that sort of thing really interests me”
