Last week Tkay Maidza dominated Splendour in the Grass, this week she announces a comprehensive 11-date national tour for September. Also in the same breath, she’s dropped the video for ‘M.O.B.’
The video comes as her second project working with cult animation institution Adult Swim, and sees Tkay, and her badass space character Maidza, as cartoons, flying around in their spaceships in an intergalactic battle between good and evil. The video brings to life the lyrics that depict a letter written to her nineteen-year-old’s future self; a declaration to always work hard without complaining, stay focused and channel ambition as a weapon for success.
It seems she taken on her own advice, recently performing for her sold out M.O.B National Australian Tour in April and supporting Mark Ronson’s national tour. This time around, she’s sought out Willow Beats, Porches and L.K. McKay for support duties and will include a number of all ages and under 18 shows.
