The Push, ever the deliverers of good times for Melbourne’s youth, have a new project New Slang. A series of monthly all-ages gigs New Slang will showcase local and touring artists to a generation of young people enhancing Melbourne’s vibrant live music scene. The event team managing New Slang is a cohort of teens from across Victoria. Taking place at The Channel in collaboration with Arts Centre Melbourne, it’s set to be awesome monthly event benefiting all those involved.
The first lineup features two of 2016’s most promising artists, Tiny Little Houses and Alex Lahey. Both Melbourne based, the two artists each have something unique to offer and will surely put on a great show.
Tiny Little Houses are about to head out on their new single tour ‘Milo Tin’ and New Slang will be their only all-ages gig. Their new track is bright and ingenious lyrics.
Alex Lahey has garnered the support from Triple J’s Zan Rowe for “killer songwriting” and her track ‘You Don’t Think You Like People Like Me’ has been added to regular rotation on the station.
You will also catch performances from Melbourne high school band Moss and DJ Elldaychubbygal.
