Having just sold out a bunch of tour dates across the country, for their recent single ‘Every Kind Of Way’ and latest single ‘Kooky Eyes’, The Jungle Giants have finally revealed the name of their second album Speakerzoid, due for release Friday August 7, along with announcing a national run of shows to celebrate its release during September and October.
The strange title comes from misheard song lyrics courtesy of a friend of the band while they were enjoying the opening strains of Sonic Youth’s Teenage Riot. The band loved the made up word; it summed up the listening experience of the album so much it became the album title. Recorded with friend and producer Magoo, Speakerzoid is an inventive, accomplished and ebullient record, showing a band that has grown up since the release of their debut album Learn To Exist.
The Speakerzoid Tour will take The Jungle Giants far and wide nationally and will include some all-ages shows with support form Art of Sleeping and Hockey Dad.
Speakerzoid out Friday August 7 on Amplifire.
