Developing a rich sound in ethereal proportions, Sui Zhen has announced her latest single ‘Take It All Back’. After her recent signing with Dot Dash under Remote Control Records, the track hears the first complimentary taste from her upcoming debut LP Secretly Susan. Highly anticipated by fans and artists alike, the alias of Melbourne-based artist Becky Sui Zhen has delivered a bouncy and bubbly narrative, singing sweetly of change, regrets and the dystopia of what is “Susan”.

Since releasing two complimentary EPs on Tokyo labels in 2014, Female Basic and Body Reset, Sui Zhen’s debut has been a constant WIP for Becky, layering on her electronic experimentations with sugary techno-pop and minimal down-tempo 808-lead tracks. The new LP will mark the return of Sui to a more traditional vocal-led pop sound, immersing the world of Susan and the colourful, surreal and staged landscapes in the overall sound. ‘Take It All Back’ hears Becky make pop styles malleable, directing a dreamy sensation that encompasses an unstructured and distant warmth. Softly taking you by the hand, ‘Take It All Back’ is a glimmering and contemplative single that does not stutter or faint.

Sui Zhen’s debut LP Secretly Susan will be released in August 2015 via Dot Dash / Remote Control Records. Read our Interview with Becky here.
