The Society Of Tastemakers & Elegant People (STEP) have announced the follow up event to their successful inaugural open panel discussion, set for July 16.

Themed ‘The Critic’, the event will discuss topics concerning the modern art of music journalism, and in particular, illuminate the business and creative sides of music criticism as told by some of the industries most prolific and recognisable names. The panel will feature Jake Cleland (The Vine/ Pitchfork), Sarah Smith (Faster Louder),Mikey Cahill (Herald Sun/AMP Judge) and Tyson Wray (mX and Beat Magazine). 

The Nick Clarke moderated discussion will touch on the aspects of reviews in both positive and negative forms, as well as revisit some of the panels’ previous contributions and how they reached the current points in their careers.

Kicking off at The Toff In Town on Wednesday July 16, the event will conclude with performances from the producer Planète, as well as Melbourne’s Rat & Co, who will undoubtedly be showcasing their recent release, Binary.
