To celebrate 40 years spinning the best new music on the airwaves, Triple J has enlisted some of the countries most renowned JJJ favourites to kick off a day full of “incredible acoustic arrangements, unexpected collaborations and covers of legendary Australian hits”.
Spearheading the event, labelled as Beat The Drum, the likes of Hilltop Hoods, The Presets, The Cat Empire and You Am I will lead a contingent of fresh and matured Australia music talent at the event, set to come to life on Friday, January 16 at Sydney’s Domain.
The event will also see likes of Vance Joy, Ball Park Music, The Preatures, Nina Las Vegas and KLP cap off one of the most iconic Australian festival lineups seen for some time
Rounding out the the super sized event, Adalita, Courtney Barnett, Remi, Owl Eyes, Tkay Maidza and Cloud Control’s Alister Wright and Heidi Lenffer will also make guest appearances.
If you’re not around on the 16th, never fear – the entire Beat The Drum festival will be live on triple j radio on Friday, January 16.
