Being one of Australia’s leading multi-platform music and entertainment show, here at Speaker TV we’re pleased to announce the first instalment of their new monthly music and arts event Citizens of The Streets. Aiming to promote new and up-and-coming Australian artists in an original ethos, each night will be held at the Shadow Electric Bandroom in Melbourne’s iconic Abbotsford Convent, and will kick-start the connection between university crowds, music lovers and of course, the artists involved.

Building a stronger relationship between music and youth, Citizens of The Streets is an opportunity to inject new talent into the national music scene, by capturing exclusive footage and interviews as part of the long running Speaker Sessions, each night of Citizens of The Streets will be documented and shared across Speaker TV’s online platforms and national weekly television broadcasts.

With an all Melbourne lineup, including psych-shoegazers Flyying Colours, psychedelic three-piece Breve and young indie rockers My Elephant Ride, the Citizens of The Streets audience can expect a live set filled with projectors, masks and an array of music loops. Prepare to be taken on an eclectic aural and visual journey!

As well as the music, Citizens of The Streets will also be showcasing a range of mixed media exhibitions, including music photography and art installations by local artistic talent Dan Soderstrom, James Douglas and Amy Freund.

We will be announcing many more exciting acts over the next few weeks, and will kick off our first Citizens of The Streets music and arts event on Thursday 18th June. So keep the date free, grab a few mates and enjoy a night of good music, arts and atmosphere!
