Electronic/indie Canberran trio, Safia, have released the new music video for their latest single, ‘Counting Sheep‘.

Directed by Jimmy Ennett, (who also directed the music video for ‘You Are The One’), the video presents an obscure, and often confusing narrative. However, the film clip does well to compliment the haunting, sinister and somewhat quirky sound of the single.

Ennett said: “When the lads played Counting Sheep to us I knew they were on to something unique and engrossing. I really wanted to make something that would stay true to the quirky, creepy and fun song. The clip plays on the paranormal, but in a unique setting and characters, as the song is anything but cliché. We wanted to keep the audience guessing as to what could come next whilst having tongue-in-cheek moments with the cameos and dance sequence. If, at the end of the clip, at least one person thinks “wtf?” then we have done our job.”

Following a string of successful shows at South By South West (SXSW), and after featuring on Peking Duk‘s lucratively popular hit ‘Take Me Over’, the band appear to be continuing their ascent with ‘Counting Sheep.’

Both shows for the single launch in Sydney and Melbourne have sold out!
