The 4hero founding member and 2000BLACK label head, dego, has just been announced as Red Bull Music Academy’s latest guest for their Club Night series.

As part of 4hero since its conception is the 1990s, dego has been a pioneer of dance music, drawing influence from jungle and drum n’ bass and creating audible off shoots into techno and jazz. At the start of the 2000s, dego, Phil AsherIG Culture and a cast of other likeminded Londoners started Co-Op, a clubland icon which would find a home at the legendary Velvet Rooms and Plastic People.

In 1998, he established his 2000BLACK label, which carved its way into a niche finding through a series of singles, albums and compilations of London boogie, focusing on future sounds and musical experimentation. As well as releasing on his own label, he has released on Eglo, Brooklyn producer FaltyDL’s Blueberry Records and Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature. In May this year, dego dropped his highly anticipated second solo LP The More Things Stay the Same via 2000BLACK, which finds its roots in Jazz Fusion, classic Funk and Electro.
