Flying in with a preview and a new single release, 2016 is set to take Flume, the 24 year old Aussie super-producer, to a whole new level.
Keeping us in the dark for 6 months, and only two singles released in the last year, ‘Never Be Like You‘ will captivate and steal everyones ear instantly. Whether it be the aggressive new wave beat, or Kai‘s graceful vocal, there’s something for everyone to get down to.
Sharing ideas online and eventually meeting up in New York, Flume described the writing process as: “We laid down some chords and started an idea but weren’t feeling inspired. So we went out into the night for a few hours and when we returned, it all started to come together“.
Kai had a more intimate retelling of the experience as the “song comes from an extremely personal place. It’s about a moment in [her] own life when everything was going really well and [her] inner saboteur tried to do what she does best“.
For those itching to catch a fresh Flume set, he’ll be playing at ST Jerome’s Laneway Festival, this summer.
