Melbourne-based artist Merpire mesmerises her audience in the new video for her gorgeous single ‘Invitation’. This beautiful, stripped-back acoustic rendition of her latest single was filmed in front of an intimate gathering at Northcote’s Tamale Studios during their monthly live music event Hot Sauce.
In front of a roaring fire and a transfixed audience, Merpire shows off her exceptional talent for stunning songwriting alongside band mates James Seymour and Mimi Gilbert. The former Sydney-sider’s voice is spectacular in the live setting, allowing her the space to breathe and shine without the added trappings of the studio version. The song is a departure for the artist’s previously released upbeat singles but it proves to be just as strong as them with its gentle, calming power.
This is a raw, stirring glimpse at Merpire’s live show which she will be taking on tour this winter to celebrate her upcoming EP Endless Chatter which is formally due out on June 22. Previous singles such as ‘Holding Breath’ and ‘Hauntways’ found success both on Triple J’s Unearthed charts and Spotify’s new music playlists. As part of the release of her upcoming EP, Merpire will be touring various locations across Australia, bringing her extraordinary talent and enchanting live show.
