The genius of Paul Kelly is back once again for a unique Irish- Australian tribute tour, Exile; Songs And Tales of Irish Australia. Working alongside artistic director Shane Howard, the show features a melting pot of Irish and Australian folk musicians performing traditional songs and tales to celebrate the vast cultural influence of the Irish in Australia. For Howard and Kelly the show is a further opportunity to reflect their own heritage, having their own ancestors once migrating from Ireland to settle in bush regions around Australia.
From prisoners, convicts to settlers, Exile aims to capture the ingenuity of Irish history and its direct connections to life in the present day, relived through the personification of poetry, jigs, reels and its ever so comedic quality.
The few shows to be performed in Feb 2016 are set to be nothing short of a culmination of highly thought out works from legend Paul Kelly in collaboration with other notable and talented musicians. For all the songwriters, self-proclaimed poets and writers, when given the chance to witness Kelly in all his glory one must take full advantage of the opportunity in hopes of achieving self-enlightenment; almost on par with unlocking the force. It is not one to miss! For more information and to book tickets, check out the tour dates below:
