Passion Pit have announced the bands return to Australia this August, with support from The Griswolds. Led my frontman Michael Angelakos in support of the bands critically acclaimed third album Kindred, the band will play shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Returning for the first time to Australia since their 2013 appearance at Splendour In The Grass and a number of sold out headline sideshows, fans can look forward be treated to hearing new tracks from Kindred live for the first time, the contrasting darkness of Angelakos’ lyrics, which touch on themes such as depression and familial strife, proving there is more to Passion Pit’s music than its shiny, upbeat pop exterior suggests.
Since releasing his critically acclaimed debut album Manners in 2009, Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos, has garnered widespread recognition as an incredible song writer while establishing Passion Pit’s immensely joyful and unique sound. The band’s second offering Gossamer, was also met with similar praise and even greater commercial success, reaching #4 on the US Billboard Chart and #12 on the ARIA Chart.
Now with the release of Kindred, Passion Pit have firmly cemented themselves as a must-see live band for 2015!
