Electro-pop newcomer MYAMI has released a film clip for debut single ‘Solider’.
The Melbourne local teamed up with produced Wayfarer// for this slick, RnB infused track. It’s crazy catchy, and if you’re not careful you’ll be hooked all weekend long.
In the accompanying video, MYAMI’s muses on her career dressed in a Miley Cyrus ‘Wrecking Ball’-Esque number. Beginning in a white room, she’s gradually covered in a sticky black ink, which she smears on the pristine walls. She suggests this symbolizes the music business: white walls convey a clean start and the black paint marks her entrance into the industry, fraught with the weight of people’s expectations and retaining creative control and direction.
MYAMI has something to say, so listen out for it. Be ready for this one.
MYAMI’s debut EP ARMOUR is due for release late this year.
See MYAMI perform live at the Accidental Discharge Magazine launch party Thursday 6th August at Shadow Electric bandroom. Tickets on sale now!
