Thundamentals, a staple of modern Australian hip hop, have been very busy boys in the last little while. Recently, they played to arena crowds thousands strong, while performing a coveted support slot on Macklemore x Ryan Lewis’ Australian and New Zealand tour. Just last year, their headlining Elephant in the Room tour sold out and took them across the nation for a massive 25 shows.
New single ‘Never Say Never’ was recently premiered on Triple J’s Good Nights to an overwhelmingly positive response. And to celebrate in style, Thundamentals are hitting the road yet again for a 13 date tour between October and December. To add some extra weight, the boys are bringing along PEZ, who has been conspicuously absent from the scene for the last two years while working on his new record. Sharing the responsibility of hyping up the crowd before Thundamentals is teenage support MC Mallrat, an up and coming bright young voice in Australian hip hop. These shows will be her first in many parts of the country.
Thundamentals hold an important mantle in Australian hip hop, and now four releases in, their fan base and appeal is only growing. The new tour will be a whirlwind of talent sweeping through the country, as these accomplished artists prove their weight in gold. Thundakats be warned, tickets are moving fast!
