A movie about Satan’s guitar? OK… A film about Satan’s guitar featuring the who’s who of rock royalty? That’s more like it!
Dubbed “the loudest silent movie on Earth’, stylised forthcoming film, Gutterdämmerung (meaning “twilight of the Gods” in German), is set to feature some of heavy metal’s biggest names.
The rock ‘n’ roll /film/gig concept from the mind of Belgian-Swedish visual artist Bjorn Tagemose is part rock show part immersive cinema experience. The film is set in a world where God has saved the world from sin by taking from mankind the Devil’s ‘Grail of Sin’…..the Evil Guitar. The Earth has now turned into a puritan world where there is no room for sex, drugs or rock ‘n’ roll.
Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme (joining his Eagles of Death Metal bandmate Jesse Hughes), iconic shredder Slash, and French electronic hell raisers Justice are the latest to join the motley crew.
Names to have already joined the cast of this dark fairytale include Iggy Pop, Grace Jones, Lemmy from Motörhead, German singer Nina Hagen, Mark Lanegan, and Henry Rollins. More women are set to join soon too.
The current plan for Gutterdämmerung is for the film to tour with a live band and narrator during winter 2015/2016…
