New Zealand Pop sensation, 22 year-old Robinson is the new face of success with her emotionally provoking single Medicine winning our hearts all over again.
The young talented singer-songwriter has been on our radar for a while now, with her first single Nothing To Regret already hinting at a promising musical career for this gifted newcomer.
Earlier this year, Apple music provided mass exposure to the young star, highlighting her as their ‘New Artist of the Week’ and supporting her single Nothing To Regret across the platform.
With currently holding over 60 million streams to her name, Robinson has made it amongst the next wave of artists. Her songwriting has been praised by Clash Music as “remarkably mature and incredibly fresh.”
Setting the bar ever more high, her latest single Medicine isn’t far off achieving the same breakthrough she experienced with Nothing to Regret, with Medicine‘s YouTube music video garnering over 900, 300 views since its upload in September. It tells the story of self reflection in the face of heartache, with Robinson describing it as – “reflecting on the pain of heartbreak along with accepting the realisation that the pain has caused in past relationships.”
“Medicine is about not realising the weight of your actions and words until it happens to you. It’s about having a taste of your own medicine”- Robinson shares on her latest single.
Dedicated to completing her first album in the coming years, Robinson believes a fundamental aspect of her growing success has been due to positive reception from her fans. Evidenced from the amount of love she receives on her social media accounts, Robinson is already living the reality of an emerging star.

Pop singer Robinson alongside American singer and song-writer Hayley Kiyoko
Eager to explore her universal inspirations, Robinson has succeeded in creating global networks of other artists and fans by performing live as a supporting act to artists such as American singer, song-writer and model Hayley Kiyoko. Closer to home, Aussie artist Dean Lewis has featured Robinson on his 2018 tour, with Robinson performing as his opening act. Robinson’s upcoming performances will also feature her at the Laneway festival in early 2019.
Robinson is clearly in the midst of building an impressive reputation, her chill, easy going demeanour attracts both fans and industry professionals to her music. On stage she comes across as humble, describing her upbringing as normal, Robinson admitted in an interview with Music Feed that she was ‘very shy’ when she first started performing music professionally.
There’s still a way for Robinson to go with the release date of her first album promised somewhere in the future, and although this means we are unlikely to see another huge hit from her anytime soon, it is clear that she is definitely one to keep an eye on.
Robinson’s music is available to stream and download on Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music.
