Sydney indie-pop four-piece, Glass Towers, commandeered national airwaves today on Triple J’s ‘Live A Version’ with a pulsing rendition of Lana Del Rey’s smash, “Young and Beautiful”. This guitar-charged reinvention of Del Rey’s beloved torch song (made famous via its appearance in Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby’) exemplifies the passion, immediacy and romance that fans can expect on Glass Towers forthcoming debut album, ‘Halcyon Days’ – in stores in just two weeks (5th July 2013)!

Glass Towers began their narrative through the release of a pair of highly acclaimed EPs – ‘What We Were, When We Were’ (2011) & ‘Collarbone Jungle’ (2012) – and the associated singles which were conceived during the bands final days at High School.
The band became a staple of national broadcaster Triple J with singles including “Jumanji” and “Tonight”, honing their craft on festivals like Splendour In The Grass and tours alongside contemporaries such as Loon LakeDappled CitiesPapa Vs Pretty and internationals Maximo Park and The Kooks. Only this week, the band supported buzzing UK act, TOY, at a show sponsored by Bulmers Cidar. The band will be embarking on a ‘Halcyon Days’ headline tour throughout August 2013.
Debut album, ‘Halcyon Days’, continues the band’s exploration of youth, but this time from the perspective of four young men standing on the doorstep of adulthood. Through songs such as title track “Halcyon” and the lustful lament of “Tonight”, Glass Towers are reflecting on where they have been and what might face them ahead.
