“Brisbane producer Danny Harley has been making music as The Kite String Tangle for less than a year. That’s all the time it’s taken to prove he’s got serious production chops” – InTheMix

“Some people might call this electronica, but at its heart this is a wonderfully inventive, catchy and beautiful pop song. - Unearthed review, ‘Commotion’ – Dom Alessio

“Harley has already attracted a butt-load of domestic acclaim for his blend of ethereal, down tempo pop” – Acid Stag

With a brand new song – Given The Chance – now at radio, Brisbane producer THE KITE STRING TANGLE is taking his remarkable blend of ethereal pop and darker, ambient electronic beats on the road, hitting Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney in support.

TKST is the experimental solo endeavour of Danny Harley, launching only 12 months ago, the project was inspired by the likes of Active Child, Mount Kimbie and Chet Faker and is, so far, proving to be more than incredibly promising. Having already supported the likes of Gold Panda (UK), Vydamo, Pluto Jonze, Movement and New Navy as well as being a showcase artist at the inaugural Australian Electronic Music Conference and Splendour in the Grass, Parklife and Peats Ridge festivals with his other musical ventures, things are already starting to heat up and very quickly.

An extensive background in composition and production has resulted in a captivating arrangement of handcrafted electronic textures and contorted organic samples. The unique, versatile beats and harmonic multifaceted vocals are sure to enchant any audience, whether they’re lounging in a dimly lit backroom or assembled together in the thousands at a major live music event. 2013 is set to be a promising year for this unique artist.

Stray Currents is the new swirling, five-track sonic expedition from Melbourne’s Baptism Of Uzi. Following on from the success of lead single, the titular ‘Stray Current’ (commanding rotation on Triple J and a berth in FasterLouder’s top 30 songs of 2013 so far), the 10” EP explores a fully realised sound from a band traversing new-found pop arrangements with meticulous detail.

Punctuated by the mercurial ‘Carnal Need’, which lilts and shifts with volcanic compulsion and the effortlessly precise ‘Believe’, Stray Currents is as robustly eccentric as it is a self-assured articulation from a band at the vanguard of tangled, affected pop music.

The music video for ‘Stray Current’ plays  with Nicola Tesla’s dream to build a tower for wireless electricity. Shot at goodtime studios, the video was directed by Thom Russell. The “inventor”, played by Tobias Manderson-Galvin, designs and completes his tower only to fall to the ground when he turns on his machine. The band hope to celebrate the dreamers who, when their inventions fail, continue to work on their vision.

“Stray Currents is a wowing 17-minute ride through bright colour sensations and snaking cross-genre contortions.” mess&noise

“Baptism of Uzi. Say it out loud. ‘Baptism of Uzi’. Listen to how cool you sound. This is how great you could feel if you listened to Baptism of Uzi’s colourful new EP, Stray Currents.” thedwarf
