Celebrate the remarkable sound and style of multiple Grammy Award winner; the late and great soul singer Amy Winehouse, with one of Australia’s finest singers Atlanta Coogan and the Little Big Band when they pay tribute to the one of the UK’s greatest singers of the 2000s. Originally put together as a one-off show for the first anniversary of Amy’s tragic demise, Atlanta and the Little Big Band left audiences wanting more, leading to the demand of other performances.
With some of Melbourne’s best musicians backing Atlanta,The Little Big band consists of Matt Dwyer (ex Bondi Cigars), Steve Hadley (Black Sorrows, Tex Perkins, Paul Kelly), Stephen Morrison, Peter Mitchell – Bustamento, Melbourne Ska Orchestra and Matt Poynter, who take you on a musical journey of Amy’s life through song, performing all her hits from her critically acclaimed & award winning full length records Frank & Back To Black.
Soul music enthusiast, record collector, radio presenter and legendary Northern Soul King, DJ Vince Peach hosts the evening as part of his weekly night Mo’ Soul. The Liverpudlian moved to Melbourne in 1982, shipping over his incredible collection of vinyl records along with his passion for Soul, becoming a regular DJ around Melbourne and the presenter of the fabulous Soul Time at Melbourne’s PBS FM. Vince plays the music he loves and wants the world to know about it from the cool sound of James Brown to the Temptations and everything in between and guarantees to keep you movin’ and groovin’ in between sets.
