Melbourne singer Alex Watts is back, and he’s brought the old-school soul vibes with him on his new track ‘Hopeful’. Featuring members of Melbourne funk and soul bands, ‘Hopeful’ sounds like something straight out of the 60s soul scene. The track is driven by Alex’s crooning vocals, swirling sitar lines, twangy guitars and washy backup vocals, and will definitely entice fans of Saskwatch and Daptone records artists Charles Bradley and Sharon Jones.

The release of ‘Hopeful’ will be celebrated with a month-long residency at The Grace Darling in May. ‘Hopeful’ is out April 15th on Astound Records.
