Mumford & Sons return with a new single, ‘Believe’. The band are going down another sound avenue, less folk, and more stripped back with strings and atmospherics taking over from acoustic guitars and mandolins. Tinkering electric guitar and delicate piano float along, until the drums and guitar kick in towards the end, and the song becomes more solid and intense. The song is quite stark, with the lyrics standing at the fore. It is taken from the Mumford & Sons forthcoming album, Wilder Mind.
Wilder Mind was recorded at Air Studios, in London. James Ford produced the album (Arctic Monkeys, HAIM, Florence & The Machine) and it features twelve new tracks. The songs were written collaboratively by the band in London, Brooklyn, and Texas, as well as in Aaron Dessner‘s (The National) garage studios in Brooklyn.
‘Believe’ will be officially released on the April the 27th, and precedes the band’s third album release, which will be available from May the 4th through Gentlemen of the Road/Island Records.
