Meredith Music Festival has today announced their first act will be none other than Father John Misty who will perform around Sunset on Saturday Night.

Now in its 25th year, Meredith started in 1991 as an end of year party for a couple of hundred friends. It wasn’t meant to be anything more than a one-off blow out, but everyone had so much fun she just kept on keeping on. The things that made that first one so supremely enjoyable are still fiercely protected to this day: BYO, camping under the stars, one stage only, a no d!ckhe@ds policy, a complete absence of commercial sponsorship, and the magical mix of music, nature and weird and wonderful humanity at its finest.

Father John Misty, is a man that needs no introduction, with release of his hilariously titled album I Love You, Honeybear, which is a concept album about a guy named Josh Tillman who spends quite a bit of time banging his head against walls, cultivating weak ties with strangers and generally avoiding intimacy at all costs….

He is a spiritual singer; songwriter for the ages; soulful, hip-shaking no-rules showman, frontman for a cracking band; satirist, social commentator; banter king; romantic poet; novelist, philosopher and one heck of a performer of course!
