Just when you thought Melbourne’s HUGE music scene couldn’t get any bigger, the newly renovated Bandroom The Croxton will re-open its doors to the public.

The golden era of The Croxton saw Cold Chisel play their first ever Melbourne show there, with a host of other bands ranging from Bon Scott with AC/DC, Skyhooks, Rose Tattoo, Mississippi, Little River Band, Mi Sex, Mondo Rock and INXS.

The venue has completely renovated the Bandroom, completely overhauled the artist spaces, bars and sound/lighting systems, and is preparing to unfurl an upcoming gig list to rival any other Bandroom in Melbourne.

Features of the venue include:

  • Huge band room with unobstructed view of (massive) stage and two bars
  • Newly renovated with beer garden for pre/post-show catch ups
  • Ability to hold 900 Patrons
  • 3 mins from Northcote Social Club
  • Metres from free parking, close to the High Street tram line and Croxton train station so you can catch public transport home after a big night

Opening night on Thursday 1st of October will see 10x ARIA Award winners You Am I – one of Australia’s all-time essential rock n’ roll bands – play their first Melbourne headline show in two years.

Last seen in Australia in 2012 supporting City And Colour, Canadian musician and collaborator with Feist, Weather Station and many more incredible artists, returns as BAHAMAS.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will also present a magical double headline event with buddies GOAT. After slaying it on distant shores and their sold out Gizzfest national tour in May, Australia’s favourite garage psych rebels King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will return to play at The Croxton.
