Australian singer Mahalia Barnes has joined forces US guitar prodigy Joe Bonamassa to debut her brand new album live in Australia this February for the very first time! The pair will play two exclusive Australian showcases set to take place in Sydney and Melbourne in February, playing tracks off their recent collaboration on a forthcoming album ‘Ooh Yeah – The Betty Davis Songbook’ due for release on February 24, 2015.

Backed by Mahalia’s full live band The Soul Mates, these exclusive, debut shows will feature Barnes and Bonamassa like you’ve never seen them before, performing Ooh Yea – The Betty Davis Songbook Live!

“The band and I are so excited to be playing these two special shows with Joe! What an honour to share the stage with him. We were lucky to find a time that suited so he’s flying across the world to join us for two nights only! I really can’t wait for people to experience the album live – it’s going to be raw, nasty and funky. These shows are going to be pretty special!” – Mahalia Barnes

Ooh Yea! – The Betty Davis Songbook was recorded at Freight Train Studios in Sydney producer Kevin Shirley (Divinyls, Journey, Aerosmith), showcasing Mahalia’s love for soul, blues and rock n’ roll. Bonamassa was more than happy to add his world famous guitar playing on the album, and will now also add it to the live shows.

So catch the eldest daughter of Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes, Mahalia Barnes along with one of the world’s greatest guitar players when they play The Factory Theatre in Sydney on Tuesday February 3rd and The Prince Bandroom in Melbourne on Thursday February 5th with support from The Lachy Doely Group.
